Flares and smoking

Did anyone notice a difference with their flares after they stopped smoking?

I only smoked for a couple of years and quit way before I got IC. BUT I did notice in the beginning of my IC "journey" that being in a really smoky room would flare me right up...

I quit smoking nearly 20 years ago (I was a 2-pack-a-day-highly addicted smoker). I can say with no qualms that it improved my bladder symptoms. I also stopped coughing every morning, got rid of the "morning nausea" and generally felt better.

I quit about 4 months ago & I have to say, my bladder feels much better. I smoked 1-1 1/2 pks a day for almost 50 yrs!!! Now if I could lose the weight I would be happy. baby Kathi
