insane weight gain

Okay, I love Elavil, it's the only drug that helps my IC. But I eat 1200-1500 calories a day and exercise 4-5 times a week and I am gaining A POUND A DAY. The only way I can fend off the weight gain---not LOSE weight, but just MAINTAIN it--is by literally starving myself, which I have tried, sorry to say, but am just not willing to do. I'm only a little overweight at this point, but at this rate, I'm scared that obesity could be in my not-so-distant future. I don't want to go off Elavil, but I am so frustrated by this situation. Any advice would be appreciated!

I suggest speaking with your doctor. When taking Evail gaining a few pounds over a course of a few weeks to a few months is much more realistic than gaining a pound a day, especially with how you maintain your calorie intake and you excersise. I think that something else may be going on, possibly a thyriod problem or something like that.

I am not a sweet eater, never have been. But since taking Elavil, which I love, I am telling all my friends to buy stock in Culver's Ice Cream and Dunkin Donuts, because with the amount I am eating, they should get a huge return in their money!. I am now thinking of going to rehab for my new addiction,

I had MAJOR weight gain on Elavil. When I spoke to my doctor about it he was almost shocked,ugh!

I took it for about 5 months and gained 30 lbs. That was enough for me. I have lost most of the weight since going off.

Yes, I did notice some difference after stopping Elavil but Elmiron works well for me. Something to consider.
