I guess I'm one of the ones that got lucky. I've read a lot on these forums about bad urologists, especially ones that refuse to think IC can be in a woman under 30. Well, I first saw the uro in September, after counting out diabetes and some other things, I got scheduled for a cysto/hydro. No delays, except having it pushed back 45 minutes on the original date.
Was out like a light with general shortly after getting into the operating room. I wouldn't even have known my urologist was doing the procedure if I hadn't heard him in the hallway while I was waiting! Could have been any schmuck otherwise! :lmao: Woke up an hour later, was told the procedure was 15 minutes. Was feeling a little nauseous from the general, so they put something in my IV.
Went home fine about 2 hours later. Had a big urge for a number 2 (if you know what I mean), but wasn't happening, so I got scared because of the constipation stories here. It later turned out fine.
Pain was grit-your-teeth bad when I peed, had a little blood, but otherwise okay. I never had pain in the first place for a symptom, just frequency and pressure. Took 2 Ibuprofen, I feel okay 12 hours later.
I don't have any results yet, but the procedure wasn't nearly as scary as I thought. The scariest part was when the anaesthesiologist said I might have to have a spinal! *laughs*
For the record, I'm 20 and from Saskatchewan.
