my interstim is now malfunctioning (not working)
and I was told there was a monitor that I have not received yet???
what?? this is crazy, put something in my backside and not tell me it
comes with parts, lol!! crazy! anyway, if anyone knows what
this/that ,means, please let me know. I am going to turn it up, to
see if that helps, but I know stress probably over rides any signals

Have you had the implant? or are you now going thu the trial? if you are going thru the trial, they may be refering to the device its self.. I have never heard ofit calleda monitor. I have no clue what they are talking about if you have had the implant.

you do not have to feel the stim for it to work. whe you go back to the doctor take a padof paper and a pen and write down what he says.. I am confused too.

Maybe she is talking about the remote that the patient gets to either turn the freq up or down or turn the unit on or off. This could be the only thing I think she might be talking about and if it is I got mine the day I came home from surgery, for both of them. Oh also just having surgery can also mess with the urg and freq and make it seem the Stim is not working right. Remember you can still have flare up even if you have the device. And I know that when I have surgery my bladder and stim dont work right together for a while.

The remote is the only thing I can think of as well, but that should have been given at the perm. implant surgery. She may also just not be programmed correctly yet. ALot of times it can take several programming sessions to be correct.

more info from her:
I have a funny feeling in my tail bone, kind of like a spasm
but more like a quiver?? i guess is how to explain, does yours do
that also? I also feel it all the way down my left leg and foot, (I
know it is the nerve) but it feels like a pulse in my foot all the
time, but I keep it set on 2, I think that is a low setting for
interstim. If I leave this morning I will not see the uro until Jan.
in the middle of the month, so I will gather all my questions for him
then, Mine was placed on right upper buttock, low back
flank area.

Big thanks for your help!

Katrina the tapping she is feeling is normal, she can turn it down to 1. She does not have to feel it for it to work. THe feeling is also something she had to get used to as well. The sore tail bone could just be that she has had surgery around that area and it is sore. THis did just happen. She also may possibly not be programmed correctly and this setting is not going to work no matter what she trys. She really should call her on Dr and try to see him if she is this concerned. Is this the lady from your boards that I gave my email and number to in chats that night. Tell her I will be happy to help her either way she feels like communicating.

I agree with Leslie. I also have the nerve thing going on with the foot and leg. Does the tapping in her foot stop when she turns the unit off? I also agree that if this setting not working for her she needs to go in sooner. It can take many reprogramming to get the right setting for her.
