Has anyone tried Zyban? Just wondering if it really does help curb the urge to smoke.

A girlfriend of mine used it to quit successfully. Its been over a year now an she's doing great! You might want to let your uro know tho, just in case in interacts with the IC meds you might be taking. My friend doesn't take any meds for anything....Good Luck!!!

Thanks Yvette. I am not on any IC meds as I had my bladder out 14 years ago. Just filled the script today. Now I have to psyche myself up to start it. My doc warned me that it might make me hyper. We'll see.

Judith,
Go for it....I stopped after cutting down to 5 cigarettes a day from a pack a day habit on 7-20-2000. The date was so easy to remember, that I stopped on a whim.

Wasn't easy, but I take so many drugs that I was afraid to add Zyban. Have known a few die-hard http://www.ic-network.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.ic-network.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif (pun intended!) smokers who have had good success with it. They did not speak of any problems with hyperactivity.

YOu go girl. Judith keep me posted...I'll try to support you on the boards!
Susan

Susan:

I'm laughing! I sometimes forget many, many dates, but I do recall that I quite smoking on August 17th --- right now can't remember exactly how many years ago, but I think either 17 or 18 http://www.ic-network.com/ubb/confused.gif It was a very important date to me. I had to have a crutch and Nicorette Gum (it was still a prescription item) was tht crutch.

They tell me memory is the first thing to go.... http://www.ic-network.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hugs,
Donna
