I was diagnosed with IC in 2001. I did the Elmiron, hydroxyzine etc. I had about 4 bladder dilations with all the different medications they would apply. It would only last for about 5 to 6 months before I needed it again. I had kidney stones in early 2005 when my doctor did the last surgery. A few months later severe pain in my neck and shoulder, lasted for months. I now have bone spurs in my neck. Due to all the other surgeries I had the last several years, I can't afford another one. My current doctor put me on Neurontin to help the pain. This is the kicker, for the past year the Neurontin helped with my bladder pain. There are moments of slight discomfort but on the whole , it has been a blessing. The Neurontin makes you sleepy too and lately a few headaches and memory problems, but for the past year I haven't had to see a Urologist. Whether or not Neurontin could help anyone else, I don't know but it helped me.
