I've been to see another urologist today who is part of a dutch IC patient organisation and he also thinks i have IC.
I will get a biopsy (i hope this is the right word for the procedure of taking tissue examples from the bladder wall) to confirm if indeed i have that.
The procedure will be done under local anestetics (epidural if im correct, do apologize for my lack of knowledge in english medical terms), so i wont feel much of that. I was wondering if there will be much discomfort after the procedure.

I had my biopsies done with cysto-hydro and I was asleep. Lovely nap, no pain and no cancer!

You may feel some discomfort for a few days. I suggest you talk with your doctor about some pain medication after the procedure so you will have it if you need it.
Warm hugs,

Yay ! glad to hear marymove ! I wish my docter would choose for a nap, but since the biopsy only takes half an hour he rather wanted to do the epidural thing.
Thank you for the information, Donna, i'll definately ask the docter about that :)

I just got the hydrodistension and biopsy done this past Tuesday. There wasn't a lot of pain, but moreso discomfort. I don't know what your doctor recommends, but i had to have the catheter in for 24 hours after the surgery. Having the catheter in, trying to sleep with it, then pulling it out myself (with the help of my mom-God bless her), was very uncomfortable... Dont worry about the pain tho, just ask for some pain meds, and you will sleep just fine!
God Bless

I will just get the biopsy, no hydrodistension. Hearing you say they send you home with a catheter makes me happy i am not getting the Hydro. *Shrug* Catheters always hurt me lots due having a smaller pee tube. I had a Nefrostomy Catheter (one that goes straight into the kidney) and a double J Catheter (from bladder into kidney) last year due Kidneystone problems. Especially the Doube J caused me not to be able to walk normally for days !!!

Update:
My biopsy was done the monday before christmas. Had a lot of discomfort from them putting things through the peetube, but other then that all went well.
Today i got the result of the biopsy. They found enough infectioncells within the bladderwand to together with the symptoms diagnose IC.
Treatment so far gives me little options as i dread having to put tubes in myself to flush the bladder. I'll have to see how things go with taking Vesicare. Will get a check up in half a year but can see the docter sooner if the symptoms/pain gets worse.
