Antihistamines and constipation

In case some of you didn't know or were wondering....I just saw on the news that antihistamines slow down your metabolism. I always thought that, but just hoped it didn't impact the bowels. Definitely the last thing I need right now!!

I had major problems with constipation and I also started to gain weight now I know why:( I had to stop it too because I had a really bad flare and am not sure if it caused it. I want to try it again if I can get things calmed down. Also, on that note, does anyone have a recommendation for a laxative type med that might not cause flare issues?
