Hey everyone.
Wow, am I glad I found you. I am 28 and my doctor is pretty sure I have IC. She is sending me to a urologist, but in the meantime has suggested I try a medication to help. She put me on Oxybutnin Chloride. She told me to "play" with it, and see if it works.

Well, today I tried 1 pill at 1pm. Within an hour I was very dizzy- it lasted about an hour. I didn't notice it helping much, but have definitley felt some side affects- such as dry mouth. The dizzyness did go away- thank god.

My questions:

- How long does it take for the medication to start working on your bladder?
- How long before I won't be dizzy? I don't like taking this each day specially if I have to drive places..

Any thoughts or help would be great.
Thanks!

Bernadette

Hi and:welcome: ,
One of Ditropan's huge side effects is a dry mouth. It is called an anticholinergic. One way to improve the dizziness is to drink tons of water which is good with IC anyway. I would definitely discuss this with your doc. Most side effects go away within a few weeks, but this really needs to be a team effort.

Thank you.
I really was afraid of taking another pill for fear of being so dizzy again. I will try another one, once I go home after the gym.

Hopefully in another week or so I wont feel so dizzy right after taking them. I think you are right, Water is going to be HUGE with this one :-)

Thanks again!
