I was just wondering if anyone out there has had their tubes tied. I am about to have my third child and know that I am done having kids. I want to get my tubes tied but am worried that it could affect my IC symptoms. To do anything to make syptoms worse is always on my mind and always something I am cautious about, like most of you. Any info would be appreciated.

I had my tubes tied after my 3rd child way back in 1982 and had no problems. BUT, I did not have IC back then either. They did the tubilagation after I had my c-section.

I had my tubes tied in 1989 after my second child, I was having symptoms of IC but wasn't officially dx with IC till 1992.... So can't really tell you if it bother my IC or not.

I had it done in 2002. My IC didn't get better, but didn't worsen either.

I had my tubes tied in 2000 (right after Bush was elected, as my form of protest). Didn't affect my IC one way or the other.

Got my tubes tied just after my 3rd was born. think on it. I started having all sorts of stuff happen after that. bleeding, cramping. plus the emotions where really bad being so final. if i could go back i would not of had it done.
it is good to hear both sides. good luck

I had my "tubes tied" about a year and a half ago. It didn't effect my IC negatively at all. I have three wonderful children 2,3,and 9 and I decided that was enough for me.

I had several pelvic surgeries due to infertility issues, They did 2 sugeries removed both tubes and scar tissue, to prep me for ivf. No Luck there. Both surgeries did not bother my IC. I found the IC more painfull than the surgeries, best of luck in what you do!Hope I was able to help.

I get the depo (spelling) shot quarterly. My husband had a vasectomy years ago, but it always seemed that my flares were worse with my cycle. It did get a little better and I don't have that monthly thing anymore either! My mood is definitely better!

I had mine tied before I had IC. I went home in an hour and a half. Got a massage that afternoon. Piece of cake. Best decision I ever made.
