Erika,

Thank you for the Beautiful Flowers. I put them up on my journal for everyone to see! Thank you all for your wonderful words and support!
Unfortunately this procedure did not work for me. I am sorry for getting anyone's hopes up. I thought this would work but I should have known better. Oh Well! I am in the same amount of pain I started out in. There are no medications that ease the pain and no treatments. This is my life!

Thank You All!

I hope you all have a great day!

Love,

Kara

I MAY HAVE SPOKE TOO SOON AND I AM SO SORRY! I WANTED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IMPORTANT ABOUT THE Radiofreqyency Ablation. PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THINKING INCORRECTLY!

I'm sorry everyone but I just wanted to say that the last time I went to the bathroom it was 7:30 PM and I just went It's 11:40PM. I didn't have the feeling of having to go so maybe this bilateral radiogrequency ablation did work if only for a few hours. I guess we will have to watch it day to day and go from there. Let's see how tomorrow goes. I did a little research online where it mentiones that right after the procedure the nerves go a bit crazy because they are not completely dead. A few hours later, the nerves have died and the person can be at rest. I pray to GOD that this is what happnened to me and that I have a few good weeks ahead of me. I just wish for a few weeks at least. There are other options to permanently kill the nerves so I am hoping that this will just give them more information if anything about how to proceed next. Most of the surgeries are done by a Neurosurgeon but the Pain Management Doctor that does the Radiofrequency Ablation has to pave the way first or else the Neurosurgeon has no where and nothing to go by. I am praying so hard right now for better days ahead!
I don't know anything about this procedure so I did not know that I could get worse before getting better. No one has gone before me on this so I am alone. I have no knowledge of how this all is supposed to work and the doctor didn't tell me anything about what to expect because I was his first patient that he did this on for that area of the body. I am sorry I spoke too soon and I still may have spoken too soon, but I just wanted to let you know what may have happened and what is happening.

Thank you for ALL of your love, support, and kindness. Thank you for bearig with me through this confusing time!

This could last a few days, weeks, months or even longer, we just don't know as I am the first to do this!

I think it's safest to use the terms one day at a time for now, even every few hours at at time......

Love and HUGE HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK ALL OF YOU THAT TOOK THE TIME TO CARE EITHER WAY THIS WENT! AGAIN, I AM SORRY.....

It sounds like things just might work out after all. Better days ahead, Kara. Better days ahead! Whatever it takes, one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, or one second at a time. Sooner or later something will work.

I am pulling for you.:)

Hang in there Kara--and if you need to run somethings past me I am here! You know I had the blocks for the RSD and then had the part of the nerve removed that was acting crazy. Don't feel alone, the crazy nurse down here in Florida is still around.

Hugs,
Barb:smile tee

Oh, I'm sooo glad and relieved that it kicked in finally and started working for you! I had hoped that that would be the case...I thought maybe it just took time for the nerves to die....oh this is wonderful! Praying that you will have a very long vacation from the pain and hopefully the next step will be no more pain forever!

Blessings,
Lori

Any update?

I'm kind a bored of this pubic pain and i'm very curious about this procedure.
Even if my pain is link to both the bladder and bowel.

My mom is supposed to have the nerve ablation done for her lower back later this month. None of the other treatments have helped and the problems she's having with the nerve are affecting her leg, foot and bladder (not to mention being in constant pain.) She's hoping it will help. So I'll be interested to see how this progresses for you as time goes on.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you respond well to the ablation and it continues to give you relief.

The procedure failed on me. I am not sure if they use it for bowel issues as well. Something to ask your doctor about.

"Radio Frequency Nerve Ablation is a procedure used to temporarily deactivate minor nerves that supply the facet joints in the spine. These nerves are often the source of back pain as well as intractable pelvic pain, including the urethral area. and can be temporarily shut down using radiofrequency energy to heat the surrounding tissue. Under fluoroscopic (X-ray) guidance, the affected nerve is accessed and a special probe is inserted, allowing the delivery of radiofrequency energy to the targeted area. Results can last from months to years."
