What is your hydroxazine dose?

Was just put on Atarx and wondered what the rest of you were taking by dose in the antihistamine dept?

Hi,

I started on 10 mg's at night...it made me very tired for the 1st 2 weeks but after that the tiredness wore off. I am now up to 25mg's and it is helping me tremendously.

25 mg at night before bed....

25mg in the morning and 25 at night. Started off with just the night-time dose for a month and then added the morning dose.

75 to 100 mg at night, every night. It sounds like a lot, but it takes a LOT to knock me out....I've been on lots of sedating meds for quite a long time. I started at 25 mg once a day, and moved up to that. I notice a big difference if I lower my dose or if I run out and take a day or two to get my refills......it helps me a lot!

What did you feel the Hydroxazine helped most with? Was it primarily sleep or do you feel it helped bladder symptoms?

It helped with frequency, pain and sleep. For me it helps to calm the bladder down for the night. Before the hydroxyzine I hardly ever slept and was going just about every 20-30 minutes. First night I took just 10 mgs and I slept straight threw for 3 hours. It was a sound sleep too. I felt so much better the next morning. It normally takes 1/2 hour before it starts to kick in and I can tell with the bladder.

Do you take Elavil at night also? I it has "calmed" my bladder also and I notice I sure can breathe better as my nose is usually stuffed up in the morning. I have worked myself up to 20 mg now, the Doc wanted to give me a 50 mg pill and I talked him out of it so I can work up slowly. So far no hangover.

Hi there! I take Atarax 25mg at bedtime and it helps me a lot. I also take Allegra D as needed in the daytime for sinus issues - which in turn helps my bladder too. Hope that helps.
