Need Advice about Wellburtin XL

Hi,
I hope everyone is having a decent day!
I saw my ob/gyn yesterday. She wants to get me started on Wellburtin XL. I did a little research and there are a few people who have complained about breaking out in a rash and urine leakage. There were a lot of postive comments about Wellburtin. I was on Cymbalta for a year and it quit working and I couldn't stand the sweating.
I want to hear from my IC friends who have had any experience ( good and bad) with Wellburtin XL or maybe know someone who has.
I really do need to be on something for depression. Just being cautious!

I take Wellbutrin SR now, but started out on the XL. The only trouble I had with it was dizziness - to the point of motion sickness and having to take Dramamine, lol. But I went back to the SR version, and I was fine. Must have been something in the formulation to make it an extended-release that didn't agree with me. But that was the only side-effect at all. I have had no problems with Wellbutrin SR at all, no side effects and no bladder troubles from it. ;)

Wellbutrin can be wonderful and was for me as far as energy, weight loss, etc. I however had problems with it interacting ( as far as we know) with my pain meds and making me highly irritable. It was like I couldn't control anything that came out of my mouth! Terrible. It was depressing in itself because the benefits were wonderful. I was running between 2-5 miles a day (4 years ago) and getting so much done.

I do know it works well for some people though. I've heard complaints of it increasing anxiety so you may have to take something for that.

It's been good for me except I get a little dizzy on and off but nothing major. Haven't gained any weight with it either like I did with the others. Hope you do fine on it. Good luck. :)

I've taken Wellbutrin of one kind or another for the last 8 years. I'm on XL now and it works great for me. Once I thought I could go off of it because I was feeling so well. Found out that was not a good choice.

hi i was on it years ago not for IC but i hated it cause it made me really dizzy i know everyone is diffrent on it and i lated that it made me feel dopped up. I would say give it a try it wouldnt hurt to try it. Good luck :-)

I have taken it since Sept of 2004. I too thought I could go off it because I was feeling better.. It didn't take long to relize I needed to be back on it.. I had some nausia the first few weeks, but it all went away.. I love the stuff.
