We just returned from four days on the Oregon coast --- a truly wonderful time. We didn't do anything outstanding --- just went for walks in the woods, walks on the beach, laid around in the motor home and read, played cards. We didn't really want to come home, but bad weather was being predicted so.....
Even our Meggie dal*****n had a glorious time. On the beach she has a hard time deciding whether to run in huge circles, dig holes in the sand, or just plain sniff. The beaches were nearly deserted so she could run without a leash (please don't tell on us smile.gif )

Oh Donna! I'm so glad you had a good time! We missed you, of course, but it's nice to hear about your get-a-way. You're travelling in a motor home, eh? We've decided to buy one this spring so I can get out of the house too. Nothin' like your own clean potty while you're on the road! Any purchasing advice?

Yes --- I do have some advice. Go shopping for a motorhome after it's been raining so you can be sure there are no leaks --- and check carefully the insides of the upper cabinets to be sure there aren't any spots that look like they've been wet. One good thing about them is that you can get a used one fairly inexpensively since most people don't put many miles on them. Ours is a 1983 Southwind and we really like it. It is great to have a bathroom along at all times.
Another tip --- if you buy from a dealer (In Oregon at least) --- if you have a problem with it within 30 days, you can take it back and they either have to fix it or you can invoke the "lemon law" and they have to let you return it. We found some problems on our first trip and they did have to do some repairs.
I think what we like best about having an old one is that I don't worry about doggie prints on the floor, etc. , plus the new ones are very expensive to buy and to license.
We do enjoy going in ours.
Hugs,
Donna

Donna,
I am so glad you had a nice time, we are going on a cruise in June, but I can't look foward to it, because of standing in line for security. I worry about that plus all the meds... I am on the oxy. combination for pain. Any suggestions.

I do have a few suggestions about travel. For one thing, airports have wheelchairs available for folks who have a problem standing for long periods in lines. Don't hesitate to ask for one. And be very sure all of your medications are in prescription containers, especially if you'll be going out of the country.
The other big suggestion: Try to relax --- and enjoy every minute!

Donna,
I'm glad that you had a wonderfull time on your vacation!
We just got back from a wonderfull trip to Flordia. We had 4 lovely days of fun in the sun. It was so much fun.
We went Deep Sea Fishing (I got a little sea sick lol not to bad) we also rented wave runners, we went to see a dolphin and sea lion show as well. I kept having to make frequent trips to the bathroom on the boat however and wound up losing my fishing pole frown.gif had to share one with hubby. But, between the two of us we caught a dozen or so. He fished more than me because of my IC and bathroom breaks.
But, we were able to enjoy ourselves and relax on the beach too. We had such a wonderfull time I didn't want to leave. I could live in FL and be quiet content wink.gif
Take Care.
