Urinate more with Gas?

I was wondering if anyone else notices they have to urinate more frequently/more urgently when they have gas. I am starting to get convinced that there is definitely a correlation between my bladder and my colon. When I have gas, I get to a point where I have to urinate very badly. It doesn't necessarily put me in a flare (I'll only have to go the one time if the gas stops), but I will have to go badly fast. Once the gas comes, I know the urgency to urinate will soon follow. I also find when I have a bowel movement that I am back in the bathroom urinating within 10 minutes. I'm curious if anyone else experiences this and if they have found any facts behind it.

Yes!! That gas puts extra pressure on my bladder and if it is bad enough I bet it puts pressure on the urethra too.

Annother correlation though is that what causes the gas with IBS is spasms of the digestives muscles ....well those muscles often work together with the muscles of our bladder and they can affect each other.

Are you straining to have BM? That is hard on the pelvic muscles.

Something odd that happens to me is that when I have a BM, I sometimes can't urinate in the same sitting, even if I can feel that my bladder is full. I have to come back later to empty my bladder. I'm guessing it's something going on with my muscles, maybe they tighten up when I need to have a BM.

OH yes this happens to me! I get so bloated I feel I might burst and I feel extreme urgency for a wee!!!

Its horrible.
