Note from ICNDonna: Kara's problems she has had to face are extremely rare. In addition to having several very serious surgeries, Kara has medication sensitivities that preclude the use of the medications which help most of us and, were it not for her allergies, she would not be in the pain she is experiencing. My heart goes out to her. It is my sincere hope that the nerve block she will have in two weeks will be the answer for her.
I am about to Ovulate and my Urethral area is is so much pain all I want to do is sleep it off. Unfortunately the only thing that works is a nerve block and ablation where they kill the nerves for a few months. Well I am not having that done for 2 weeks. So I have two more weeks to suffer immensly! Pain meds just make it worse and the meds that I am on are not doing a darn thing! I want to scream so loud it hurts!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in pain and upset!
I needed to vent my pain somewhere!

I'm so sorry you are suffering so much Kara. :( I was just looking through your beautiful wedding photos. I hope maybe you can find a way to go back in time in your mind and relive the happy, peaceful moments reflected in your photos. Your cats are hilarious and I am sure they bring you so much joy. It seems like you have a wonderful family and support system. That is such a blessing.
I don't know what to say to help, just know that there is solidarity here with your sisters and we understand, like others can't, what you are going through.
Hugs and pain free thoughts,
Moonheart

Kara, sorry you are in pain. I wish there was some way they cut the nerves out and be done with it. Is there any way they can get you in early? Hope you start feeling better.
Hugs, Trishann

Dear Kara,
I hate it that you are in so much pain!:( But, you only have 2 more weeks to go! Relief is finally in sight! You have suffered long and hard and you are about to start a new chapter in your life....a pain-free chapter!!!:woohoo: You have gotten through this before somehow, and you can do it again. At least now you know there will finally be an end to the pain and that this pain is different from all the other times, because after this time, you will finally have relief.
Do whatever you have to do to relieve the pain. If it means sleeping non-stop until it passes, then that is okay. If it means having a cocktail or two, then so be it. But, use every tool at your disposal without guilt. It isnt like you will have to do it forever, just a few more weeks. You have made it thru this before with NO end in sight, so I know you can make it thru this one!
I can hardly wait for your ablation! It is such an exiting thing to be able to watch you finally get relief after all this time. It feels like a war is ending, or like seeing someone being abused daily who has finally broken free! I only wish I could see it in person. :(
I hope the next few weeks go by very quickly for you!
Love and hugs,
Amy

Try to concentrate on in two weeks the pain won't be there anymore. I do know how you feel and it is awful. Hang in there. :kissing: You've made it this far. You're on the last leg of the race. Which can seem like the longest part. Hope this pain won't last too long too.

You can do this Kara. I know this is going to be a long two weeks but you are sooooo close. Remember the little engine that could? I think I can I think I can and then at the end - I know I can I know I can. (Had a trip back to my childhood right there - sorry!)

I am feeling sooo much pain in my urethra too!! It hurts immensely. Do you get it worse when you are premenstral? That is when it is horrible for me, but even today it just hurts like crazy.
My doctor gave me some lidocain for vaginal pain, but it doesn't help much. I don't know how much to use. Do you have any idea?
I really want to find a way to ease the burning. How invasive is the nerve block procedure you are getting? I am willing to try almost anything. Are many doctors qualified to perform it?
I'm sorry you have been through so much. I've read a few of your e-mails before. I am only 26. You look very young in your picture. I hope you can find relief from the pain and enjoy things in life that so many people take for granted. I feel like I'd be the happiest person in the world if there were just some cure. Good luck with hanging in there for 2 weeks!! Does ice help at all????
