question about meds

i was just curious about atarax and hydroxine? i remb years ago i had a bad flare, but at time didnt know it was IC, i remb taking benadryl and having some relief for the buring and swelling.. what is atarax or hydroxine? i see that alot of IC patients takes these.. just curious because i might ask dr for them if i think it could be helpful during a flare.. thanks again to all u who reply..:angel: also im sorry im posting so much, but im just trying to learn:)

Atarax is an antihistamine. My Uro said that it helps to kinda dry your body out, and that alot of people use it to control flares. I was on it once, can't really remember, but since I'm not on it anymore, I'm guessing it didn't work for me. Might be a good idea for you though since the Benadryl helped and its also an antihistamine. I'd definetly ask your Uro about it. Good Luck!

hydroxizine is a higher upgrade to benadryl. I have been taking it for years.
