Trouble peeing

I had a hydro almost a month ago, usually they help-it did this time, but had problems ever since, first bleeding due to bloodclots-thankfully that was taken care of- now having trouble peeing, (everytime I go, I have to strain) I have been back and forth to the uro. First he said it was inflammation(?) from the procedure and to give it a couple of weeks; called him yesterday afternoon told him there has been no change - he said that I can now have "possible nerve damage"( said it will get better on its own, I asked "when? He said thats the million dollar question", he won't cath me, unless I come in so that they can teach me to self- cath for rescue treatments (might not be a bad thing to learn) he really doesn't want to put me on any medicines as he said it would do more harm than good. Thought about going to another doctor, but he is suppose to be the "expert" in this area. (My regular Uro recommended him to me.)
I don't know what to do, I have an appointment with my family doctor on Monday, I might ask him his opinion also thought about calling the other Uro that I use to see and ask him. Right now, I'm just at my wits end and all I want to do is cry! Any suggestions on what I need to do?
