Hello Friends. I am back into flare hell. A Hydrodistention took me down from a 10 to a two back in August. I have an appointment with my Urologist to see if he will do one again. My question is does anyone know anything about Aloe Vera gelcaps. I'm told they help heal the bladder and have had more success than Elmiron. I will continue to take Elmiron. I would like to know if others with IC have taken Aloe Vera and how it effected them. How many MG's are best to take? I try to keep positive but this pain keeps dragging me down. Percocet is not working and my Family Doctor will not give me anything stronger. I'm feeling rather hopeless right now. Any info about Aloe Vera would be a big help. Ziggy

The best way to start with aloe vera is with Desert Harvest Aloe Vera...which is available at the ICN store. For me I was taking 2 capsules 3 times a day and found it soothing right away and after more time I started to have a better norm.
Although many have had success with other forms of aloe vera as well sometimes other forms are harder on the bladder...the desert harvest takes the things out that would cause an increase in frequency in some and diarrhea.
http://www.icnshop.com/ there are IC friendly things such as alternatives, soaps, foods, books, and many other things. It is a good place to take a look at. Also has Julie's book "Confident Choices"

I understand how very frustrating this can be but don't give up there are a lot of things left you can try.
