I just heard about the next generation Interstim II, which is smaller & more programmable. Does anyone here have it? How is it different from the original?

I just went to my uros office, to be reprogramed for the first time in 2 years. The nurse an I spoke breifely about it. She said the device its self is abot the same size but the remote is much smaller. I believe she said thee was three or 4 different settings you can switch to vs the one we have now. They too can all be reprogrammed.. thats about all I know..

There are a couple girls on the boards who have the new one and seem to love it just as we love the old one. THe remote is different with several control buttons as opposed to our up down on and off selection.

don't know, but my uro suggested this as a possible treatment for me... it is something I need to think about. He said the actual unit is smaller, too (the implantable part). That's about all I know at the moment.
I saw it, before my battery change. but my doctor told me that the old one lasts more.
It is smaller, and it is better for thin people... I don't mind the old one, because it does not bother me, but thin patients feel it more, and it is more noticeable (the old one)

I have the old one, the summer of 2003 I weighed 98 pounds, I could feel it really well, but you could not see it sticking out. no matter what your weight is, it should not stick out.

I also have the old one but have seem the new one , much smaller for sure.
I am having no problems with the old one and I have lost over 20 lbs and I am not being bother by the Implant at all..
I may have the new one put in when I have my battery changed.

I need to do some serious research on this as I am trying to decide between interstim and botox. Other than talking directly to the doctors where can I go for extensive information about this treatment. And how is it related to teh TENS unit?

Yes, I just had the new dual channel interstim (Synergy) put in on the 21st.(ONE OF 97 IN FLORIDA) It doesn't make the pain go away 100% but it has help IMMENSLY with frequency and with the spasms and with the back pain associated with the spasms!!! :woohoo: I do admit, the surgery itself was a BI*%$....and I couldn't shower or bath for a month but so far so good. The coolest thing is I have 6 different settings I can use depending on how I feel. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me and I will help as much as possible.
