I have a question for those who take or have taken pyridium plus. Do you or did you notice whether pyridium plus helped with external urethral pain and vaginal pain? I have not been officially diagnosed with IC yet but my urologist prescribed this medcine for my bladder pain. The problem is by the time I got the prescription filled my symptoms had subsided somewhat so I did not take it. I get a very sharp and painful twinge of pain on the outside of my urethra and down to my vagina. If anyone has experienced this and pyridium plus has worked for you please let me know because I want to be prepared if this happens again. If it did not work what does? Thank you!

Since pyridium pluss has pyridium the numbing agent, a anticonvulsant, and a antispasmodic it can relieve the pain of other things somewhat yes....would it do so enough I can't say. The anticonvulsant though does give it the possibility of treating other pain. A lot of times the pain you are describing is from PFD. PFD newsletter posted http://www.ic-network.com/forum/showpost.php?p=256636&postcount=11

Sorry I don't have the personal experience to help you but I hope that can help you a bit :grouphug:

Thanks for answering my post. I did take some the other day and it did take some of the pain away but not totally. It also made me very sleepy.
