Well, it's here... the big science conference that I'm giving a talk at. I'm leaving tomorrow around noon, and of course, flying to Philadelphia via Detroit (airlines are so stupid with their routing sometimes). I should get there around 5:00 pm, just in time to freshen up and go to the young scientists' social.

I am soooo nervous about this talk. I'm going to have to take plenty of Klonopin with me... LOL :lmao: It is on Tuesday afternoon in a symposium that lasts from 3:15 to 5:15 ET. So, if any of you remember, think of me during that time. I'll be there, wearing my Foley catheter so I don't have to worry about peeing everywhere (one less thing to worry about). I used to do these talks all the time, and didn't even flinch... but it has been about three years since my last really big talk, and I'm not used to it anymore.

Luckily, I have been able to take today off from work to start packing and just rest. I had a facial and a manicure last night, which was relaxking, and then otday I'm hanging out, occasionally practicing my talk for my cat and dog :biglaugh: Now though, I am going to take a nap......... try and get things out of my mind.......

I will definitely be thinking of you. Take deep breaths!!!! I used to get in front of people all the time too so I know the stress that brings! I am sure that you are going to do very well!

PS...Just imagine them in their underwear!

Bests thoughts! Tracey

You've got a great outlook, and you've taken care of yourself so that you are at the point you can give the talk! That's great! Most people get nervous.
I heard a wonderful motivational speaker. She was absolutely dynamic. When I hear those kind of talks, I think what stamina they have. They must have nerves of steel. She said that someone told her they wished they could do what she does.
She said, "Sure you can do it! I'm up all night with diarrhea just before the talk. I hyperventilate getting ready to get up in front of all those people - you can do that!"
I hope you don't have those reactions, though. Be strong!
