Has anyone on Neurontin noticed an increase in appetite? I don't know where this increase is coming from but I noticed it when I began taking it. Help!

Although I did not knowtice an increase in appetite with Neurontin any strong med in your stomach could make it increase the ammount of stomach achid it makes and thus could make you feel hungry. It that is what has happened taking it with prelief or other calcium suppliment (or even milk) should probably help.

Good luck on finding an aswer.

I have been taking neurontin for 6 yrs. and have an increased appetite with it. It is listed as a "less common or rare" side effect as is weight gain.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I was on neurontin for a year and I gained 40 pounds !! Everyday I would got on the scale and see another half pound added on. Finally, my doctor told me that neurontin might be the problem. It took me awwile to get completely off it but I have now lost that extra 40 pounds after 6 months. eek

Hi, For me Elmiron reduces my appetite some and neurontin increases it some. For me it has been a wash and my weight has stayed the same. During the week I tapered off Elmiron ( have since gone back to my usual dose) I noticed a increase in appetite for sweets only. But compared to Elavil which I tried earlier the increase was minimal. On Elavil I gained 2 pounds a week and felt miserable. We are all so different! Wishing you the best! angel Carolyn
