Elavil and trouble peeing?

Lately I've been having trouble voiding in the morning. When I get up I really have to go, and since I haven't gone in the middle of the night I know that I need to go, but when I get in there I have to almost push to make my bladder empty. This usually only happens once a day, the first time I try to void. I've never had this problem before and just noticed it when I started taking the Elavil. Also, I take an antibiotic after sex and have noticed that its really hard for me to pee the next morning after I take it, but then as the day progresses I feel really good. This ever happen to anyone else?

Elavil works great for my frequency, but I have read here that it can work too well and cause some urinary retention with some people. I don't have any experience with UTIs, antibiotics, and sex, so I can't comment on that. Maybe some of the other ladies will chime in with some advice.
What dose of Elavil are you on? I take only 10 mg. Side effects with Elavil often increase with the dose, especially if you start out on high dose, rather than starting low and working your way up, if needed. Hope you figure out what's going on soon. Keep us posted. Best wishes :)
