Hi,
Does anyone with IBS know how someone with IBS typically responds to antibotics? I have been taking some antibotics and it feels like I'm having intestinal pain...is this typical of IBS? But I thought I read somwhere that antibotics are sometimes used to help IBS? I'm going back to doc. not sure if i have IBS or an ulcer or somthing. But I just wondered if anyone else has this pain while on antibotics.

What kind of IBS do you have?
antibiotics can kill off the good bacteria in your intestines. If you take an antibiotic it is best to also take a probiotic with it.
Normally they help to kill any bad bacteria in your intestines and thicken stools. For me too much antibiotic can mean a lot more pain because gas can build up from yeast .......which is allowed to grow when good bacteria is killed off. For me it is mainly a matter of finding a good ballance of having a probiotic when you take an antibiotic. Together they help my IBS but if the antibiotic is alone it can easily cause problems. :grouphug:

Hope you feel better soon!:grouphug:
DEFINATLY GET TESTED AND MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING MORE THAN IBS!
