today started baadd!
couldn't poop again and started to bleed again. Everytime I pee I check my rectum and theres blood. I don't know where it's coming from. then had to get ready for a hellish instill today.Everytime she takes the catheter out I want to scream it burns so bad. The only thing that saved me was the pyridium i took right after and cleaning myself with water in thier toliet. I seem to be hating them more and more. this is my third one. My bladder has more pain these days and I am hoping it is not the milk of magnesia. I need this to go to the bathroom, to keep my stool soft. I feel like pulling my hair out. I am so confused. I haven't really changes my diet. is it my water, or food, potatoes, eggs, chicken, what could it be.? I need to eat but I feel like I don't want to eat or drink anything anymore and I am sssoooo scared. I feel like I don't care if they take my bladder or take my colon out. I DON"T CARE ANYMORE.
p.s.
this instill is causing me some bad urinary retention.

If you are having consistent problems with constipation, you really need to talk with your doctor. It's not usually a good idea to take laxatives full time.

I agree with Donna. I also think that if you are having worse bladder problems with the instills its time to stop them.

Your statement, "Everytime I pee I check my rectum and theres blood. I don't know where it's coming from."

I think you need to tell you doctor about this. Maybe you should have your colon checked? Do you have hemorrhoids? I use a stool softener everyday re: doctor's advice. Drinking water also helps.

It's probably those hemmrhoids you were telling me about...they can definately bleed if you are straining to have a bm. Talk to your doctor about this as it can be a bad sign of some internal bleeding...but, most likely it's simply those painful hemms....also, ask your doc if you can take a double dose of milk of mag to get you going....then take the normal dose several times a week. I know when I am REALLY backed up, I HAVE to take a double dose to get the really hard stuff to move...it literally blocks me up.

Hope this helps, and I hope you get some relief soon! :grouphug:

I think milk of mangesa can be irritating to the bladder? I would try a bulk fiber supplement instead (the natural kind not the orange flavored with can lead to bladder flares). (Maybe you have IBS-the constipation type and Zelnorm would help...you'd have to ask doc.)

You should definately go to your doctor if you have blood coming out of any body part....bladder...rectum...etc. You may have hemmoroids or a more serious GI problem that needs checked out.

I want to try zelnorm but some people and my doctor said that it would just make me worse in the meantime. I've tried fiber and it doesn't work. My gi doctor lives 4 hours away as I am living with my mother right now for my instills. I have hmo so I can only go to certain ones. Don't know what kind of stool softener to take that will work and not irritate my bladder like milk of magnesium has I believe. I might just go on a vegetable diet. ugh.

Milk of Mag is not irritating to all IC'ers....it works fine for me...it's trial and error and when you're that constipated, and bleeding, I guess you have to weigh the options and decide whats more important....the constipation, or possible IC irritation. I've never heard anyone say it bothered their bladder, but I spose anything is possible. It IS worth a try to ask your doctor if all else fails. I've lived with chronic constipation from pain meds for years now, and my colon would have shut down long ago if it weren't for the milk of mag. It should be noted that the intestines can shut down after a very prolonged bout of constipation...it's called an ileus, and it's dangerous. It's rare, but if there are options theres no reason to risk having that happen.

Everyone is different.

Check the healthfood stores. I know someone who had a really bad time trying to go. They bought something there but I can not remember what it was. I know I had it once (they mixed it in something without telling me) and I really don't think there was anything left in there after that. Sorry, kind of gross.
