Oh man...Should I ever mention the words needle and back together in the same sentence...come and slap me. I had my nerve block, was sedated, and it freaking hurt like a son of a gun. He is good but man, he kept hitting nerves that hit my leg and then he just hurt the hell out of me. (Not intentionally...it just hurt) I buried my face in the pillow and the nurse had to remind me of the need for oxygen.

I guess the good news is my pelvic area does feel better now. He said it would for a few days, and that I need to keep track of how it feels (on a scale of 1-10) then he can decide what to do permanently.

Hopefully, whatever he decides won't hurt like this did. I know you guys said it was of cake but it was a hell of a piece of cake....like what the heck is in that cake?

C'mon guys...I was looking forward to your words of wisdom after that nasty procedure yesterday. At least it is a new day today and I'm done with it. Crap. My lower back feels like someone has been at it with a baseball bat and I'm trying to get ahold of my chiropractor to work the owies out. I think they just gave me water instead of versed. I feel like doggie doo doo today.

Anyway...have a good day all.

Makinit,

Gosh I really had high hopes for you and still do! I am sorry your back feels so bad, my block was so close to my bottom that I guess I was immune to it's effects, my husband and daughter have been a real pain in the a** so I was used to it! LOL! No really my family has been by my side cheerleading me through this the hole way!
Here's your cheer,

Rah Rah Rah, Sis Boom Bah,
Makinit knew this would be no fun at all!
Rah Rah Rah, Sis Boom Bah,
Don't you worry we're here if you fall!
Your IC family is here to say,
Take it out on us, if it was our words that persuad.
It's rock hard guts, and lasting courage that we stay,
This is IC strife, we did not plan it this way.
Look at life and the moon and the stars in the sky,
This is our only given chance, love this life!

I am so sorry you feel bad, it gets better I promise!

Much love and concern for you,

I would find another pain specialist real quick. You should have been out and not feeling any of it. I had 5 and never had any pain with them.

I've never had one done and don't plan of having it done but when my hubby had shoulder surgery they gave him one. I wanted to stay and the dr would't let me. My husband described it after and I was sooooooooooooo glad the dr told me to get out. It did help with my husband after surgery pain. He was able to sleep that night and didn't need pain medication till the next day.

After all I've been thru and the scared up fanny that I am the proud owner of, ain't nobody and I mean nobody goin' any where near this girls fanny at all eek eek

Didn't mess with my fanny...it was above my hip bone and then down into my pelvic cavity. I am in a little less in pain this morning...owie, owie, owie....I felt miserable and very angry yesterday, now I'm just back to normal pain levels in my pelvis and my back is mildly sore.

Thanks for your help all...I go to PT today so I hope they are nice to me.

Hello, I'm so sorry that you had this experience. I hope that you are feeling better and that everyone treated gently (and like a queen!) at physical therapy. Best wishes, little bear

thanks little bear: They are always good to me at PT because the PT willtake one look at me and see what I look like to determine how hard to push me. They may look at my eyes and say.." ok babe..you're ready t rock and roll" other times they look at me say "how about some guided imagary an gentle stretching".

You are great...thanks...nighty,night.

Tracy,
My o.t. was like your PT but she's moved and now I'm stuck looking for an O.T or PT that specializes in women's health. I'm sorry your nerve block hurt. It's weird how some dr. do it with you awake. I've had 3 done and the first one helped but I think I was just coming out of a flare. The last 2 didn't help at all but they didn't hurt either. I was put out for 20 min. after climbing onto a table with cumfy pillows and warm blankets. I woke up and was a bit groggy for 15 min. but then was able to walk to the car on my own and felt no sorness in my back where the injection was. The first time I bruised a little but the other 2 times there was no mark. I just wish it had helped the pelvic pain. :( I know your never going to want to try it again and I'm sure I won't just because it didn't help this last time but I would still consider seeing another pain specialist. If he wasn't a pain specialist then I would definitely seek one out.
