Has anyone ever had a doctor look INSIDE their bladder for endometriosis? I know that uterine cells can be basically anywhere inside your body which causes painful endometriosis. Your endometrial cells can't stretch, but your urinary cells can. Mix the two together, and you can get a very painful experience. I have had a laparoscopy where endo was found on the outside of my bladder. What about the inside? Is there a way to find out how your bladder is looking without being too intrusive? I've been an IC patient for a few years now, but am not satisfied with the explanation of "we don't know why". Let's find out!

Yes, quite a few patients have had endo in the bladder....extrememly painful for sure!! Have you ever seen a urogyn? It pretty much means you need someone qualified to do a hydro and trianed in recognizing endometrial cells. I know a few people who have or had endo in their bladder :grouphug:

Can they do the proceedure through the urethra during hydro, or do they have to go through my bellybutton again?

I take it your incission for the laproscopy was in your bellybutton...no they shouldn't need to do that again unless you want them to get rid of the endo....it is quite common to have a hydro lap these days.....and if you suspect endo in the bladder and know you have endo....you may want them at the same time so that you don't have multiple times to recover. I don't see why that would be necessary though if your main concern is the possible endo in your bladder. Talk to your doctor about that though. I was not one who had multiple laproscopic surgeries for my endo since even a laproscopic surgery was complex surgery to my doctors because of a huge, huge amount of scar tissue and some other things.

That is interesting. I had endo on my bladder, but I never thought about it going into the bladder. Keep us posted if you find out any more info.
