Hi, I am new to this. But I am seeing a doc right now who thinks I have IC. But I run a low grade fever almost all the time in between 99 and 100. I also have burning, frequency, urgency, and massive lower abdominal pain (taking Lortab around the clock with small amounts of help). I am scheduled for a CMG in a couple of weeks and then a cystoscopy. Just wondered if anyone else experiences the fever. I am on Elmiron, Urispas, UTA, Flexoril for fibromyalgia, and multiple other meds. Thanks for the help anyone can give.

I've had this too, I don't have an "official" IC diagnosis, but they don't know what's wrong with me yet...

I've had a fever of 99ish for a few weeks, comes and goes. It stopped after starting Cipro on Friday, but I am still in pain.

I do hope to hear more on this thread..

Thanks for the reply. Does motrin or tylenol make your fever go away? Mine mostly just stays no matter what. Do your doctors seem to think this is a big deal? Mine just say it isn't a bad fever until it is 101.5. But the low grade fever constantly really drains me.

Are you absolutely sure you have no infection? Have they run a culture?

I've never heard of IC with fever.

Actually, IC with a low grade fever is more common than one would think. I've experienced this before, and even Jill, our fearless ICN CEO, has posted that she experienced it in the beginning too.

The reason is that at certain times, there is so much inflammation in the bladder that it triggers the body's systemic "danger" response -- the body thinks "Wow, there's a lot of stuff going on down there; there must be something foreign like a bacterial or viral infection!" and it goes into "sick mode" by releasing all kinds of soluble factors and molecular messengers called cytokines. This can cause symptoms of flare to include fever, lethargy, and sometimes that "I'm coming down with something" feeling.

If you have any other new symptoms, or if the fever gets higher, please see your doctor anyway, as that could signal something else is wrong.
