Wow, there is so much more pain this time! Had my 3rd hydro on Friday and the pain is bad! He sent me home with something called UTA which I believe is the same as Prosed without the atropine and Darvocet.. Neither of these meds are helping at all!! I think that the UTA is supposed to turn your urine blue but I've been on it since Friday and there is no change in my urine color.??? OF course, I've been glued to the heating pad since Friday but still having quite alot of pain.. I don't really remember much of any pain after the 1st two hydros except the burn during urination!! Anyone else have a considerable amount of pain following hydro?? What will help?

UTA is basically an antiseptic/pain reliever much like urelle. When I had my hydro I was in so much pain I really thought something was wrong with me. I wrote tons and tons of posts during that time (well, at least while I could actually sit up) thinking that it was crazy to have that much pain.
The doc could have inflated your bladder 2 or 3 times, tried a higher capacity, etc.
You're not alone.... I had so much pain after mine I'm really thinking I never want to have another one done, EVER!
Hope you feel better soon....oh, and I've heard of others who didnt have the 'blue' pee...not sure what the reason for it is though.
Try hot baths with plain water, no bubbles, etc. If you need to, please call your doctor, or the doctor on call and tell them how much pain you are in and that it's different from previous hydros....they should know about this and decide if you need to be seen.
Take care, Sandy

Oh man now I'm scared again. I'm scheduled for Tuesday, and now I see posts like this and wonder if I should go through it!!! I've already chickened out once already.

I really didn't mean to scare you. I'm one of the few that has had that much pain, and because I have fibro and other pain syndromes, my pain threshold is MUCH lower than the average persons. I should have clarified that in my other post.
Hugs, Sandy
