I am having a hydrodistention in about 3 or 4 weeks, as soon as my doctor can get me on his schedule. He said that I would feel like I have been hit by a truck for about 3 days. Is this true? I am a little bit worried about what to expect and especially afterwards? Does any one have any advice for me.
Thanks,
Jody Lynn

:) It really depends on the person. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck for one day, and then was just a little sore for a day or two more. I think a lot of the "hit by a truck" feeling was from the anesthesia, but some was from the distention itself -- my bladder hurt for a day, and I bled quite a bit when I peed the first few times afterwards. It will likely be uncomfortable to pee for a few days, too.
If you can, schedule it on a Thursday or Friday so you don't have to take much sick time from work (if you work). You'll have the weekend to heal and evaluate whether or not you're going to need more time off.

Like Jen told you, it does depend on the person. I did just fine. Rested for the afternoon after the procedure. Got up and watched TV with Hubby in the evening. Went back to my usual schedule the next day. :) :) :)

I've had two and am scheduled to have my 3rd on Friday. I don't remember feeling too bad! You do pee blood for a day or two and possibly could be sore, but It's really not all that bad! I will be thinking about you!!
Hugs!
