On my way to the bathroom today my bladder went crazy. By the time I reached the toilet I was having intense pressure and spasms. It felt like I could not hold my urine and that I would pee all over the floor. Then when I started to urinate it burned like fire. I don't know what's going on but I am sick of this. It can't be an infection because I am taking cipro 250 mg twice a day. I have been on antibiotics for a month. I also take Enablex 15 mg once a day for frequency and urgency. What can this be? I am having my cysto with biopsy on 10/19/06. I hope I get some answers.

I hope you get some answers soon, I remember when I was first diagnosed how frustrating and painful the spasms and voiding were! UGH! I do hope you feel better soon - have you tried your heating pad??

HUGS!!!!

Thanks for answering my post. No I have not tried a heating pad but I will. It is very frustrating when you don't know what's going on. Right now as I am typing I feel pain and pressure. I won't know anything until I get the results of the cysto and biopsy.

My heating pad became my best friend, lol. It still has it's place of honor next to my bed, always plugged in and ready to go at a moments notice! ;) It really helped me out with the bladder-pressure feeling! Thank goodness you have your test soon!! Do keep us posted and I really hope you feel a little bit better this evening!!!! :)

I do well with heat, too. Lately, I've been buying the heat patches from therma care--I bought other types, but they had that mediciney smell and then didn't work as well. There are coupons on the internet for them and then when you are in pain, you wear the patche and the heat helps to lessen it. Good luck!

Oh I love the ThermaCare heat patches too, those were all I had to use right around my diagnosis time when I was in a HUGE flare - those too will always have a special place in my heart, lol. And they are great for travel, sleeping and work - when you need to be cordless! ;)

LOL... cordless. :) I use the Therma-Care heat pads as well when I have to work and I'm feeling lousy. They do help.

I'm sorry you're feeling like that, prettyeyes... I know the feeling well, and it used to scare and confuse me too before I was diagnosed. I hate to say it, but now when it comes I don't even really bat an eye, except to say "Not AGAIN." I guess it doesn't scare me anymore because I know what it is and what I can do to help myself.... eventually you will feel that way too because you'll have a whole "toolkit" of things that you know will help.

It gets better, I promise :) :grouphug:

Hello, I am feeling sore right now. I was really nervous the day I had my cysto and biopsy. I won't get the result until my follow up appointment on 11/01/06. My mother is going to get me some of those thermacare heat pads for work. I go back this Monday I hope I am ready because my bladder really hurts and it hurts to pee. Thank you for thinking of me.:)

Ahhh Heating pads. I have one by my chair in the den. One at work and one by the bed. I have started buying the ones with guarantees (walgreens) and keep the receipt! If I get cold I notice that I go into flares. And here comes winter. My husband bought me an electric heated mattress cover last year with the dual controls. I have already started using it this year. It helps as well. My old man cat loves it when I have my heated mattress pad on. His poor old bones need it too! He just purrs!!!!

I also have a heated throw in the den that helps. It seems that being warm helps with the soreness that I get all over as well. My family calls it my old lady blanket. My husband even got one of those converters for the car so that I can plug my heating pad on in the car. Don't leave home without it.

Keep us posted after your appointment!

Hugs

Heating pads are a life saver - I live on mine. I've found that the Thremacares take a little while to heat up. Boy when they do they're hot. I get little red circles on my belly. :)
