Has anyone experienced the feeling of constantly having to urinate and pelvic discomfort? I have had this for about 6 months. I often times have the urgency also but mainly bladder soreness and feeling the need to go. I can usually hold it for 2 or 3 hours but the feeling is always there. I am currently taking Elmiron 3 times a day and Elavil at night and on the IC diet. I also try to take warm tub baths at least once a day. I have taken the 2 drugs for about 5 weeks. I have also had 6 DMSO instillations and wondering when I should start to see results. The last treatment was a week ago tomorrow. I felt very good after the 2nd and 3rd instillation but it was downhill after that. I also took one Atarax on Saturday night which is also the night I became much worse so I am a little reluctant to try it again wondering if it had anything to do with my condition getting much worse over the weekend. I am currently taking Cipro for a possible bladder infection since I got much worse with the urgency and frequency (every 15 minutes) over the weekend. I went to an Urgent Care and my ntirates in urine were high but otherwise not much bacteria. I was put on Cipro because they thought I probably did have an infection with the nitrate level being elevated. I want so much to feel normal again without this daily discomfort from my bladder. I have also been diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and am currently seeing a therapist for treatments.
