Help With Hair Loss

I've been using Elmiron for about 6 months now and now my hair is starting to fall out and get thinner. :confused: Is there any way to counteract this or any ideas on how to slow it down? :pray:

Hi Juice-
It was about 4 before I started severely "moulting". My stylist put me on the Nioxin scalp treatments but after a month I cannot tell any difference. Currently now I don't go out of the house without either a cute hat or my wig.
But I did mistakenly forget to refill my script last week and after 4 days of being off Elmiron I was in an unbelievable flare! I am just now beginning to get over it so I know I can never go off of it.

I have had the patchy hairloss. It started shortly after I started on the Elmiron, but even after I stopped, it is still falling out. Mostly patches to the back of my head. I have been to a couple of doctors including my uro and have been told that the stress from the pain could also relate to the hairloss. I also have eczema, so who knows. I wear a wig now and people keep asking me who did my hair. I do tell most people it's a wig. I thought that I would be very vain about it, but I do feel better when I go outside and the wind doesn't blow my hair and expose my bald spots. The hair is growing back some, but it's gray!!!! What I have read about Elmiron is that it does grow back, so that is why my doctor has a different diag.

I got my brave face on and went to a salon and asked for the Nioxin. It was almost $40.00, but I am going to give it a try. When I said that I had thinning hair she looked at me real funny. I said I am wearing a wig right now. She said that it looked natural. I told her I appreciated her saying so, but I still wanted my own hair back. Let's pray that it works!!! I was told by my doc to get off the elmiron which I did as I lost so much hair. I only took it for two weeks but my hair fell out for months and took several months before it finally started growing back in. Lauren
