apparent reason? I increased my water intake quite a bit (from 1-2 bottles of Evian (9 oz) to 3 - 4) I feel much better but the shivers/chills are wierd.

I have been wanting to make a post similiar to this for a while
My body will involuntarily jerk, especially when I'm relaxed. My muscle groups take turns contracting...my arms, legs, torso, head and shaking. Sometimes my entire body moves and it FREAKS ME OUT! It's like the commercial for jumpy restless leg syndrome, but its a restless body syndrome. I've woken my boyfriend up from a deep sleep and freaked him out because he thought I was having a seizure (I never have had one before) but it's FREAKY!
Is that the kind of shake you mean? Mine are more like body tremors or jerks or spasms, not so much dealing with feelings of temperature change.
Has anyone experienced this? Its been going on for a while, months. I think it's because I'm anxious/stressed because of my silly bladder.
I'm glad you're feeling better though! I'm addicted to water also, sometimes I think I drink too much, if there is a such thing?

hot and cold, drastic changes in body tempterature. I thought for awhile it was hormones (hysterectomy post 6 years and on a estrogen patch) but now I tend to think it is IC related. It seems to be worse when I am in a flare.

Wow, Izazen, there is a name for it? What causes his and how does he treat? I also take Effexor XR 150 MG for anxiety a day, and have been for over a year, but in March I tried to ween off and got the same feeling...but now I am religious about taking it. I know before mine was caused by withdrawal for the drug (which I still wish I could get off of). Does your hubby does meds for it?

I have severe heat and cold intolerance too and often break out into skin rashes- all IC related and the IC meds.

I have the whole body jerking thing too. Sometimes it's worse than others. I just think it's probably something to do with the pain meds. It is aggravating especially when I'm so tired at night and all I want to do is sleep, that all of a sudden your whole body jerks and you wake up. :cussing: UURRRRRRRRRR!

Are any of you taking meds like phenergan or reglan for nausea? Just curious because meds like this can cause involuntary 'twitching'...these aren't the only meds that do this, but these are common medications for many of us.

Izazen,
When one has internal shivers this could be due to a low thyroid (hypothyroidism). Do a search on symptoms and then check it out with your Dr. I know longer suffer with shivers as I now take Armour thyroid daily and it helps in many ways that you will never believe if I listed them all here. Low thyroid can affect the other endocrine glands and cause much problems related to female hormones. My Dr. told me he now understands my trouble and he actually went to the internet to learn, and that if I went here to the endocrinologists at this medical school I would never receive the hormonal treatments that help me. No problem, because I know many Drs. in my neighborhood who are happy to treat me. Crazy world!:bonk:

Unbelieveable...once again, here I am reading my own story! I also get the shakes and cold flashes--none are heat related, but I jitter and some times my teeth chatter audibly for a long period of time. Drives me crazy, worries my husband, and since I have so many other complaints at the Dr I never even think to mention things like this. Mine has been going on since long before the medications, so I am now guessing (after reading all of your posts) that it is IC related.

I sometimes get cold sweats with my flares. It really sucks, because I'm too cold, then too hot, then way too cold, etc. I don't really get the shivers, but it's certainly possible. I also get parts of my body being really cold, when the rest of me is hot. My heating pad is my friend.

I do get chilled alot...I go from hot to cold all the time. my body gets all clamy and sweaty. It feels like I go through a body fever :(
Does anyone else know what I mean? I'm not on my period and I'm too young for menopause,i'm only 21 so those are both out. I've been tested for infections and I don't have any. Is this another symptom? It looks like it is.
