memory and atarax (hydroxyzine)

hello:

I have been using hydroxyzine for proximately 2 years and I have found it very helpful. Recently, however, I have been having some problems with my short term memory, which I know is said to be a side effect from the medication. it's gotten so bad that I've had to stop taking hydroxyzine just to see if doing so makes any difference in my memory. My question is, has anyone else ever encountered this problem? If so, what are some good substitutes for hydroxyzine that I might be able to take instead? Any information anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
