Lonely?

How do you get over the lonely feelings at times? I am really a person who likes to be myself but sometimes for unknown reasons I feel like I'm all alone. Anyone else feel that way?

Everyone feels that way sometimes. It is hard for other people to relate that don't have IC or pelvic pain symptoms which can make you feel very lonely. If you have family members or friends, that don't seem to undertand, try talking to them about it- share this website and other literature. I felt like my husband didn't understand and I felt very lonely, then I realized that I really had talked to him very little about my conditions. Once I became more open about it, I have felt like he understands better and I haven't felt so alone. Also, realize you are not alone because everyone on this website can relate!

Thanks carjet. I like you name. It makes me think of the Santa on the razor blade commercials. Not sure why but it does. The thing is I have explained this to everyone. Even gave them literature and they still do not understand. There is no one to talk to about this face to face except with my doc. Glad your husband understood after you talked to him about it.

What do I do? I come on here, and read the stories of others who are suffering too, and then I find someone who seems of like mind and spirit, and I send them a pm with my phone number and I tell them to call me when they feel this way, and then, I get to help them thru their loneliness and isolation, and it also helps me thru mine! So, I just sent you a pm with my number. Please use it whenever you feel this way, and you wont have to be lonely all by yourself! :) Hugs, Amy

I sometimes feel very alone with my IC, but coming here definitely helps.

And --- please be very cautious with sharing telephone numbers with anyone on the internet.

It is very lonely at times...this site has been really helpful to me. It's great to be able to talk to other people that are going through the exact same thing as you. Just keep on truckin :D
