My symptoms are not exactly matching up with IC, my kidneys feel like they are giving birth all day(don’t know how else to describe the severity of my pain), and I only have to void 5-7 times a day-not like other IC’rs I have read about. Had ct scan done, IVP, VCUG. When my uro finally did the hydro/scope he found ulcers in the lining of my bladder. My bladder did not hurt much until after the procedure. He was only able to fill it up to 500cc because I was showing too many signs of distress/pain even under anesthesia. Is this typical of IC patients?

I found out that he was the only uro in that office that was not covered by my insurance so I had to switch to a different doctor. I went in for my first appt today. She said that newer doctors don’t always know what they are looking for and said its debatable wether or not he really saw ulcers. She did a pottsium sensitivity test on me and although it felt uncomfortable I wasn’t in severe pain-so it was ruled negative. After I got home, it really started to hurt. I tried going to the bathroom, and it was hard to go. It started to burn, and then air bubbles were coming out-I have never had a fart from my urethra before, and it was rather painful. When I wiped, there was blood on the tp. As soon as I stood up-severe pain went shooting through my body and I threw up. That has only happened once before when I had my 2nd son naturally. The pain is unbearable!!!!!! Is this normal for IC patients?

I don't know, but it sounds like you had a severe, delayed reaction to the K+ test, and you should call your doc as soon as possible and tell her what happened.

The kidney pain is strange, although I have heard of ICers who have severe kidney pain too. Even I can have pain that radiates up there during a really horrible flare. Don't know how normal it is, but I do know others have it.

Definitely call your doctor about your reaction.

I just had my hydro/cysto done on thursday and I did have air come out of my urethra with some blood right after when I tried to pee. The nurse told me that was normal but she made me stay in recovery until urine came out with minimal blood. If you're still seeing lots of blood and can't urinate, I would call someone right away! That could be dangerous.

Since kidney stones and problems must have been ruled out due to the tests you had, but the other test showed bladder problem, you probably do have IC. IC pain can radiate all over the place, lower back, vulva, legs and maybe in your case kidney area? Hope they treat you with something and see how it goes? Elavil really helped me with pain and spasms.

why does this stuff always happen to me on a weekend? my uro is not available and I can't go to the e.r. I am feeling a little better today, but mostly due to drugs. Is the K+ test supposed to have this long of a reaction?

hey everyone..hope all is well..i just have a quick question...i was diagnosed with IC back in April and my URO who i had been seeing for about a year transferred to Chicago so i had to get a new URO. well i saw him a few weeks ago and he does not think i have IC so i am very confused and i have had leg pain back pain and tingling/numbness/pain in my right leg (all of my pain is only on my right side) but anyways. my URO ordered for me to have an MRI which i had last friday and it came back normal. so it is a mystery i do not know what is going on. does anyone else who has IC have leg pain/tingling/numbness associated with it? im confused..any help is greatly appreciated..thanks<3
