Hello all-
I just had my cystoscopy yesterday (in-office, no anesthesia, no hydro) and I was wondering if it is normal for bladder irritation to occur after the cysto. I know that it can irritate the urethra, which it has in my case, but I haven't heard anything about the bladder.
Granted, I'm on my period (which can aggravate IC) and I've been bad with the diet the past several days (I know, I know...) but still. Any thoughts?

Also, in the cystoscopy the Uro said my uterus was enlarged, and they're gonna check for fibroids next week through ultrasound. Can your period make your uterus swell and press against your bladder? I think I remember him mentioning that menses could enlarge the uterus. I'm hoping that's what's going on, I don't want to deal with uterine fibroids too!!!
(By the way, I'm 22 and on birth control)

I'm not sure about the uterus ? but after I had my cysto I was uncomfortable. It is very common for IC patients to be painfull after a cysto. For many Ic Patients even cathiterization can cause discomfort. Good luck with the ultrasound I hope it is just that you are menstruating.

It's not unusual to have some discomfort for a day or so after a cysto --- and if you slipped on your diet, that could cause even more discomfort. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
