Whenever I post about sometimes seeing a tad of blood on the paper after wiping no one ever responds - am I the only one who has this - I guess I am.
I'm older than most posters (apparently) and read that older women tend do have more intense inflammation when they are diagnosed. (I'm not dx'd yet)
I take a lot of asacol for a bleeding colon (remission now) -I wonder if I can have the same condition in my bladder?
I'm going nutz waiting for my appnt - has anyone had any experience going to an urgent care center with a urology speciality? I worry about the quality of the dr who would work in such a place.
RIght now my symptoms have lessoned a lot - just pelvic pain at night if I have had a cookie for dessert (my surmise for it) and my Chinese herbs take care of that pretty well. I sometimes have a slight burning after urinating but the frequeny and urge have subsided altho in the past I've had them go away for several days only to come back with a vengence in 4 or 5 days.
I have a tons of anxiety and am just grinding away - that can't be good for my health or bladder!
My internist scared me as he said that even tho the blood/mucous I see is very sporadic (once every week or so depending on stress level) he said its not typical for IC although he doesn't think its bladder cancer either as he said there would be more blood - in the bowl.
Yikes! I was looking forward to a wonderful Fall season - car trips, little vacations as its my favorite time of year but this year everything sucks.
Thanks for reading, guys, you are my solace - please excuse "pity party" as
I know many of you have much greater problems than mine.

If I'm flaring it's not unusual to be able to see a little bit of blood on the tissue, but usually I just show microscopic red cells in my urine. It's not unusual at all for an IC patient.

I have never taken Chinese herbs so I don't know if they could be a problem.

I was diagnosed at age 29, although I'd had IC, I'm sure, since I was 8 years old (I remember the symptoms all too well). When diagnosed, I was told that my bladder was full of glomerulations, ulcers, and scar tissue. When flaring, I usually show microscopic red blood cells, but it's unusual for me to show visible blood. However, I almost always bleed visibly if I have an infection.

out there on that plank!
I knew I had seen some old posts re: visible blood - even small amts can be unsettling although when I had my attack of UC I was dripping blood on the floor all the way from my bed to the bathroom - and back again.

I am not diagnosed yet but when they send my urine for test it is always postive for blood and I always see blood on the tissue after I urinate. I have my second cysto with biopsy on 10/19/06.
