My doctor wants to do a biopsy of my bladder. It will be done in his office. does it hurt? what will I feel?

I had mine done by a Urologist, in the hospital, as an out-patient. My Uro said there was no way I would let him do it while I was awake!

Is the doctor doing a biospy alone or doing a cystoscopy with it? Or doing cysto/hydro and a biospy?

I did not have a biospy done in the office, so I don't know. I just have a cystoscopy done in the office. And then a cystoscopy and hydrodistention done under aneshesia, with a biospy sample done, in a hospital as an out-patient.

I am having a cysto with biopsy on 10/19/06 with IV Sedation. I don't know the difference between anesthesia and IV Seadtion. I am not sure if my urologist is going to do a hydrodistention. I am going to call today. I also had an in office cysto done. It was very uncomfortable for me. You should call your Doctor's office and ask some questions because it can be very uncomfortable.

semi knock you out. Nothing on your mouth - just an Iv. They call it "twiilight sleep" and it sedates you for about an hr or slightly less depending on how much they give you (how long they want you to be under) You don't feel a thing.
