 :hmm:  :help:
Ok so tonight I was in the ER.. With severe chest pains on the left side going down my left arm and up into my neck.. The doctor who is one of the best ER docs I have ever met.. did an ekg which came back ok.. and LOTS of blood tests.. which all came back ok except my liver thingys.. oh and I just found out about a week ago I am diabetic and got put on glucoflage.(sp?) and when I got to the ER my blood sugar level was 372.. I had taken my med for that before I left.. finally my sugars came back down into the 100's.. they were going to put me on an insulin drip but ended up not having to..(THANK GOD) But the doctor did end up giving me 4 chewable asprins.. 3 different times of lapressor (sp?) Dulodid (sp?) and a med for my upset tummy.. chest pains continued.. He wanted me to stay in the hospital but he called my primary doc.. and because my blood test all came back ok he could not get them to constent to keeping me because I did not meet the medicaid criteria for staying in the hospital.. But the doc did say that it is either my heart or most likely FIBROMYALGIA....What the heck is that..??? I am really lost.. and my thought is I do not need anything else in my list of Illnesses.. anyhow if anyone can help me I would be very greatful..Thanks everyone...

I suggest you follow up with your primary care doctor to find out what caused your problem.

Warm hugs,

Hi!:hi:

I have Fibromyalgia...which is " a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. Fibromyalgia means pain in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons –the soft fibrous tissues in the body. "

"Most people that have Fibromyalgia say that they ache all over. Their muscles may feel like they have been pulled or overworked. Sometimes the muscles twitch and at other times they burn." I sometimes feel like I have the flu...chronic fatigue syndrome seems to go hand in hand with Fibro.

I was diagnosed by a Rheumatologist. My Sed rate in my blood (which shows inflammation) was elevated. Also, I have deep knots in my neck and all over my back...:(

I've never had chest pains with the Fibromyalgia...sounds like maybe you could have some severe acid/hernia in your esophagus??? I would get this checked out...The Dr.'s should be very concerned with your liver--especially since your blood showed your enzymes were elevated---this could even explain some of your chest pain!!!

I'll be thinking about you:)

Hey there, I definitely agree with Donna. Something is not right, I would go see your doctor. Hope they can found out what caused this pain.

Hugs, Trishann

I have IC, Fibro, Diabetes, etc, etc.
You got a good explaination of what Fibromyalgia is. The only thing I would add is a Rheumatolagist would press on trigger points on your body. If it hurts where he presses that is how they usually diagnose Fibro. Besides the trigger point pain it does hurt all over.

I would also keep an eye on your blood sugar and see if your chest hurts again when your sugar is high.

Of course, see your doctor to know for sure.
