Does anyone ever get a "stabbing" sensastion in their flank area? I only get it on my left side and it is a very rapid pain. It takes my breath away when this happens because it hurts so bad. It only last for a second but, after my left side aches really bad. It sounds odd but, does anyone else get this? Or know what it could be? I have been getting it more and more lately..

Hey there!!!:hi: I get horrible flank pains that take my breath away. I was just diagnosed of having many cysts on my ovaries. I've already had a partial hysterectomy....but still there are more problems. Also, found out that my left fallopian tube has a mass on it...I will find out what this is when I have my bladder removed...1 more week...YIKES!!!! Also, I found out that when I have extreme pain in my back, that I'm always dehydrated...weird huh??? Make sure you aren't secreting any ketones...that's how they always know I'm a little dehydrated..b/c I certainly eat carbs. Get this checked out!!! Hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!!!!:grouphug:

Hugs!!!!

I've gotten those before, but only when my body was trying to get rid of a kidney stone. I'd have those pains occasionally for like maybe a month or two, then my body would try to get rid of the stone in earnest and when the stone started moving, THAT really got my attention, LOL!

Hi,

My first thought was in the same direction as Laura mentioned. (Redfearn)

When I experienced this at my worst IC time and subsequent Dx, it was found by laparoscopy that my left fallopian was quite enlarged. It was removed and was a benign situation.

I really encourage you to look into GYN reasons (at least to rule them out), as I think sometimes all pelvic pain gets easily accepted as IC sumptoms.

Just my opinion and I hope it gets resolved for you, it can be very uncomfortable.

Please have this checked out. When we have IC, it's so easy to blame the IC for every symptom, but that's not always the case. Better to know for sure.

Warm hugs,
