Six months ago I thought the world I knew had ended because of IC. Today I am doing fine. There is medicine that can help; you need to find a doctor who will work with you and help you. My doctor finally found the right combination for me, and now I feel normal. Also this disease goes in remission. There is hope, and you will be fine....do not let this disease get you down--one day you will be fine....find the right doctor--one who believes in IC, and one who believes you will be ok. Please private message me if you need more help.

Thank you veryy much. Its so hard to live life this way. Ive had this pain and everything for 16 years.Since i was 2 years old... i feel every doctor i see just fobs me off. Like they dont want to deal with it. Its quite unfair cause no one deserves to live in pain.
I am severly depressed over this and i am only 18 years old.
I honestly feel like i need to give up. let this disease take its toll.
I just want to feel free and with no pain at all.
Only IC people really understand unless u've been through it u will understand right ? ?
Its hard to explain to people why i cant do things cause they dont understand..
I swear my boyfriend and family are getting sick and tired of this happening. its really stops me from doing things i normaly do, which now its getting worse i can hardly do the things i love doing.
It stops alot of things.
I have taken most antibiotics for kidney infections and bladder infections and nothing seems to work. I am prone to most of them which now my immune system is low and i catch absoulty everything anyone ever has.
I try and take vitamin C but that triggers the pain and everything/
I never really actually get an intfection it always comes back clear. ? why is this ? ?
I feel all the pain but no infection ?
Im only 18 years old and i dont really undertsand the whole IC thing cause no doctor has ever really brought it up ? ?
This is a great way for me to get to know the disease.
I have been through alot of tests and x rays and ultra sounds and still nothing as yet.
what else is there for me to do ?
Hugs

Where do you live? You need to see a good urologist or a gynocologist/urologist. What are your symptoms? How do you know you have IC? At any rate--there absolutely IS help for you...do not dispair. You are only 18...your life is beginning, and there is medication for you. You WILL be ok with the right doctor. Don't let this get you down--it will be over one day and one day soon.

I dont exectly know that i have IC,
I have the whole burning sensation and frequancy to go. urge to pee all the time. more and more each day, i can hardly sleep at night and if i do i get about 5 hours at a time.
I sometimes bleed, very light bleeeding though
I get the lower back pain and abdominal pain
wen i end up going to the toilet it feels like i am not empting my bladder fully and i am left there pushing when nothing is cuming out.
when i lay down i feel i need to pee more. but i get on the toliet and notbing comes out. ? ?
Some foods also flair my problem too.
the other day i took sum vitamin C and they did noting but make the problem worse.
Last night i was in hospital in so much pain, they done sum blood tests&other tests and all they said was that the wall of my bladder was very swollen they gave me anitbiotcs and sent me home ? ?
I have my urine tested but nothing ever grows. it always comes back clean?
the doctors are treating me for infections even tho it comes back clean. ive had this feeling and problem for a long long time now.
What does this sound like to you ? ?
Please help

Hey Sam,
I'm like jah, wondering what you mean by a good doctor in Aus.? Right off, I jump to Austin TX,....I lived there when my IC first showed it's ugly head. I was 18 and felt like the doctors I saw just blew me off. Was it my age or what? That's where I saw the Uro who gave me my first 'all in my head' diagnosis. What a waste of money! (sorry,...still hurts!)
Where ever you are, I'm betting there'll be someone nearby here at ICN who could recommend a doctor for you to see. A bit more specific please? Come to think of it, there is a list on this site of doctors familiar with IC by region. Have you looked at it yet to see if any are near you?
Jah is right though, I know it can get hard but please don't give up hope! The time prior to diagnosis can be extremely dark! Again, if this is IC you're dealing with, chances are very, very good that you have way better days ahead of you!
Vicki
Oops, sorry Sam, we posted at the same time! Australia, huh? There are some folks from there here at ICN and hopefully they'll have some recomendations!

I am only very new to this site.
I try my hardest everyday to not give up.. But it is extremely hard.
I would never wish this kind of pain to my worst enemy.
Its seriously cRazy
I would travel anywhere and spend as much money as it needed to get this sorted.
It deffinatly sucks :(

You're right, and it is hard, and sucks doesn't begin to describe it!
I looked, and the list I mentioned seems to only cover doctors in the USA. Still, I know there are some folks here from your part of the world, and perhaps they'll post to your thread.
I know how this sort of misery can bring you to the edge. Pain & hope don't necessarily go well together! But I can't say enough that if it is IC, and it does sound like that's a good possibility, there are treatments available! Many of us have had to 'shop' before finding a doctor to treat us. I think that's one of the saddest and most unfortunate parts of having IC!

Try posting on the Australian boards (from the boards page go to "meet others by region"). There are several people over there who I'm sure can help guide you in the right direction--a couple of people are in Brisbane, some in Melbourne, and a couple others in Sidney.
Since medications and such differ from region to region its hard for one person, for example here in the States to recommend something that works for them only to find out that isnt available in your region; hence why I suggest the AUS boards.
Meanwhile why youre trying to find a DR, a good place to start helping yourself would be to start on the IC diet--slowly since it can be a bit overwhelming at first. You can find diet information on the boards page also, under "self help strategies". Another place to look is under the "patient handbook" section, again listed at the top of the message boards page.
We all understand the frustration, anxiety, etc that IC can cause, especially when in the diagnostic stage. Keep coming here for support--theres always someone here who is willing to help you.
take care, dear
