I knew it all along. I have Ic peoples. Got my first resue instill yesterday. Was so scared since I have never been cathed before. THis really bleep bleep bleeps. Now waiting for my hiv test. Hope It come out negative since I have a gut feeling about that to. Um hair falling out,BV, ugly feeling stomach all this feeling before taking meds and weight loss.
Now I am taking elmiron 100ml twice a day
pyridium for pain
My doc is going on vacation next week so won't have another instill
till october 17 if I'm still alive by then. oh well we shall see.

:grouphug:grouphug: The way I understand it is that relaxation makes a big difference to how uncomforatable a catheder is :grouphug: I hope the instill did you some good!!! :kiss:

I never thought I could self-cath. It had always hurt when they did it.
My MD said he would never ask me to do something that I wasn't completely comfortable with. (he wanted me to be able to PRN instillations as I live 100 miles from his office)

I can honestly say that if I have to have a cath. for anything I will offer to do it myself.

Breathe in just before the cath. is inserted and breathe out slowly...one long breath through your mouth as the cath. is inserted (all muscles naturally relax when you breathe out through your mouth)
