I realize that some patients find comfort in support communities that are based upon their own faith and values. One community, RestMinistries, may be a great source of strength and comfort for those patients who are christian. http://www.restministries.com.

If anyone has any other religious disability communities that they would like mentioned, I am certainly interested in hearing your referrals. Sometimes, as much as I would like the ICN to be a home for all IC patients, I realize that it can't be... particularly for those patients who would like to offer prayers, to proselytize, etc. Thus, I'd really like to have a resource list of websites that I can refer them too. We certainly welcome prayers in our Prayers Request and Spirituality boards but ask that religious devotionals not be used in our other boards out of respect for those with other religious beliefs.

Please remember that we have nearly every religion on the face of this planet represented on our site, thus the ICN must stay neutral.

Sorry! - Jill

Jill, I completely understand where you are coming from. I know this website is to help and give advice to people about interstitial cystitis. This is so crucial for people to get help. It has been wonderful for me and believe me, I am still learning things. It seems like, if you are here for awhile, you can't learn anymore, but that is not the case. I am learning all the time.

Thank you for the christian website you posted. I am a christian but I don't think I use this website for that reason. I realized there are different kinds of faith here. Hope I can always stay on this website.

Hugs, Trishann

What a wonderful site Jill!!!! I even found a site on there that has information about "National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week". There is TONS of information about living w/ chronic illness and also has different links to authors and/or patients who are going through what we are!!!!!:smile tee :flower:

Thank you Jill, for recognizing that not everyone who comes here is of the Christian faith and pointing this out.

Yes, we certainly have many faiths on this board and it's not really fair for one faith to dominate. I have many friends of very diverse religions who I appreciate and respect deeply.

BTW.. I posted this because a good friend of mine, Lisa, suggested it to me. I actually have one of the National Invisible Chronic Illness week teeshirts that I wear frequently!

I was actually gonna put a post on here about the restministries.com website. I get their "daily devotionals" delivered daily to my e-mail, and have found them to be tremendously uplifting and of great help to me. Thank you for sharing this.
