View Full Version : Is my pass to Club UTI still valid??

Ooooooooooooooh.... I have a UTI and a BAD one. :( :(
The free, employee health clinic at work sent me home this morning for three days when I went there to find out if I had a UTI, because I was "flaring" so hard. Turns out my urine is hot with bacteria, white cells, and blood. I was in so much pain that the doctor made me lie down so he could check for an acute abdomen, to make sure nothing inside me had perforated (ripped open). Just the UTI though....
It's gotta be my fault too. I had been doing hep/bicarb/lidocaine instills once a day. I hurt because I was out of breakthrough meds (last time I saw the pain clinic, my doctor decreased my breakthrough medication by 30%, no explanation AT ALL). So, since I was out, I began using more and more instills; I must have gotten a bacterium inside me, though I practice sterile technique.
And Dr. Evans, my urologist, is very worried about my retention problems lately, as well as my low capacity (spoken to him via phone -- worried enough to change my appointment to something sooner HIMSELF). I think I'm going to have to have a urodynamic eval at the end of the month, as well as a hydro sometime in November, and if that goes the way he thinks, we will be talking end stage IC. I am not sure I want to think about what that means quite yet. :(
Need hug?

Jen...I am so sorry to hear this news. I do hope the UTI clears up quickly. I also hope Dr. Evans is able to give you good news if you have the urodynamic or that the hydro gives you some relief if you end up having it.
Take care of yourself and like I always say...rest, rest, rest.
Sending you many (((((hugs)))))...

Here comes a hug ----- :grouphug:
I'm sure Kim will be happy to give you a reservation at Club UTI.
And more huuuuuuugs.......
Donna
First, we send lots of HUGS :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to you, courtesy of Club UTI.
Second, no expiration date EVER on the passes. That's the beauty of Club UTI. Always here, always ready to serve and pamper you.
Your choice of suites is available, as always, along with all the amenities you could ever, EVER need or want..
Before you are taken to your room please pick a pair of cozy, fluffy slippers and your choice of throw or comforter. Your robe from last time is washed and warmed - laying across your King sized bed by the ocean/mountain view. The fire has been stoked - and you are free to have it put out or have it roar right on.
Please USE room service - 24 hours a day and at no cost to you. We bill those pesky e. coli bugs and their friends for all the costs of your stay.
And on a serious note - I am sorry you are feeling so crappy. :( I hope the new appointment with your uro comes soon and that he can find something to help you. Were you able to get better pain meds to take while you battle this flare?
Off to bed with you so get out some movie rentals and kick back and don't do a THING! :kissing:

Oh, thanks, I am so happy in my fluffy robe and slippies. I think I'll leave the fire going today, ma'am ;)
As far as pain management, all I can say is :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
They don't care. I called the pain clinic and they refused to help even though it was an extenuating circumstance and I have NOT ONCE called before about extra medication. The doc today refused to help because he knew I was already on methadone and didn't want to mess around with my pain management -- which is probably good because that might have voided my pain contract (even though it was an emergency visit, it wasn't to the ER itself).
Sooooo... I suffer until Friday, when my regular pain appt is. My husband and I have a few choice words for them over there this time.
Well then Friday can't get here soon enough!!!! I hope something helps before then - hopefully that antibiotic will ease the discomfort a little bit.
Of course, here at Club UTI there is no pain - it's an extra big bad word here ---- even worse than the ones you and your hubby have going for the pain management folks. ;) So do come here to escape the pain and rejuvenate, OK? :kissing:

Hi-
Hope you are feeling better, club UTI is a icky club to be in but one with lots of warm wishes your way.
I hope your MD will be cool with you, ask when you visit on why they wouldn't help you for additional breakthrough with a UTI and see if they will add to your plan for when you need additional meds when you do have a UTI (you can provide documentation and remind them you don't ask for early fills etc)- it is the flipping psycho drug users and abusers that have ruined it for all patients with legitimate needs.
All I have to say is I am thinking of you and hope you are feeling better soon!
Warm wishes-
Melanie

May I come in if I don't have a UTI? I really need some pampering --- I stepped out of my car this afternoon and turned an ankle and it's sore, sore, sore! Are pats on the back and "there, there's" available at Club UTI if it's a stupid ankle?
Pitiful Donna ::::::sob::::::

Oh yes, it's definitely people who misuse meds that make it more difficult for those with a legitimate need. Luckily, I did post in another section about it, but my pain doctor called back and gave me a prescription of stronger medication for this week until I see her again on Friday... so I'm feeling a bit better right now.
And I agree.... while Club UTI is a beautiul place, nobody wants to have to end up there (although the fireplaces, cozy robes, and massages from tall, dark, handsome strangers are all preety nice! :D
Yes, Donna! Our cozy couches and recliners are perfect for people with hurt ankles. We have ice packs, heating pads, cute massage guys - the works. Just pick out a spot and take a load off. :kissing:

Also, there is a huge DVD selection, I've found... there is just about every movie I could want at Club UTI :) I curl up with a warmed quilt, get on a cushy couch, and watch a fun movie. Then, I have a cute massage guy, usually one with dark hair and blue eyes (sorta looks like Hubby ;) ) come give me an hour long massage. Then, I get a facial... and then I go take a nap!
After that, I feast on chocolate, pasta with red sauce, etc (all the stuff I can't eat in the real world), relax for a while with other members, and then go for a swim or a soak in the lovely hot tub on the balcony to my room.
Oh, I so wish.... :)
Although I do have a hot tub at home....

It's always warm at Club UTI --- and there are always wonderful no-calorie snacks available; I especially love the thick chocolate milk shakes. It's a really "dream" vacation spa, with a view of a lovely sandy beach that's always warm. The surf is smooth for swimming and the water is also warm.
I'll meet you there.

I'm so on my way back to Club UTI. It's been a while. My bladder started in last night and I think it is a UTI. Bummer, bummer. I'm ready for a long weekend at the club to sip on some Cherry Coke and eat something with some sweet BBQ sauce. Heaven!
I would like a massage each evening before bed. (Confession: I actually had a massage this morning at my chiropractor's office. My muscles have been achy and I would love to have some more massaging.)
I'm thrilled about the warm ocean and view. It will be a nice change from our 30-degree mornings we're having right now. Ahhhh, can't wait to get there...

My UTI went away (urine came back clean on my follow-up), but I'm still sticking around the club because I am flaring now as a result of the dumb thing. So I still need some special attention, thanks. ;)

Still a member, post UTI after my wedding.....wishing my pina colada would come and someone would paint my toes a fun color!!! Luckily my hubby is here to enjoy it with me and the kitties always know I am "clubbing it"
You all are wonderful and thanks for making my club experience delightful.
Sarojini - Sorry you still need to be here, but it is a fabulous place to "have" to be. :)
Melanie and Stacey - Welcome again. ;) I thin the nail painting is a fantastic idea and one that's not been thought of before! Of course we should have a salon here - how did I not think of that? Cosmetologists, nail techs, hair stylists - the works! :)

Yes!!! An entire salon/spa... facials too; my facialist here can put me out as if she were an anesthesiologist!!! Feels sooooooo goood. :)

I just had a facial.....totally had to premedicate to sit through it, but it was soooo nice. I think a full service salon is in order!

no uti here but i am ready for this treatment. can i place my order here? just a full body massage , then someone to just brush my hair (my daughter tried i still have a little hair left ) and a housekeeper would be nice.
Another great idea - although I don't know if you meant what I am thinking. :) My thought is - we'll send housekeepers to everyone's homes while they get to stay here and rest. That way when you return home your house is spotless. Hmmm, we should have them prepare and freeze some meals as well. :smile tee

I must have lost it in the piles of paperwork, piling up around the house....
I don't have a UTI...but frequency, a fever, a stuffy head with aches and pains (cold season--blech!!!)
And this cough: :::::::::: insert big long whine here::::::::::::::::::::
I need a full body massage, full pumpkin-papaya spa pedicure, and someone to blow dry my hair out....oh. and one last thing will someone bake me a cookie before I drift off to sleep in my squishy bed with fresh crisp sheets? (Provided I can find my missing pass!)
Club UTI please let me in! :shake:

:woohoo: Maid Service...I think I will come to the Club for at least 3 weeks out of every month if someone will clean my home for me while I am there. :woohoo:
LOL, Sharon. I think my "Club UTI" housekeeper forgot to come to my house today! Somehow I wound up cleaning....
Yvette - We have a second pass on file for you - no worries. Plus, we know you here - you're like family. :kissing: And freshly baked cookies sound delicious! Any particular flavor????

Does the housekeeper do laundry, too? That would be great. I didn't get any done this weekend with the darn UTI keeping me on the couch. I'm hoping today I'll have some energy left after work to do some.
I'm all for some freshly baked cookies, too. Just regular old chocolate chip with a tall glass of milk sounds good. But, really, I'm not sure I've ever met a cookie I didn't like! :)
