My dr. advised me to try "pod thai" as it is a very gentle dish. You can order it with or without tofu. Lately, its the only thing that seems to agree with me - that and a simple pasta dish with a little oil and garlic and some spelt bread. A few Lorna Doone cookies are my one "risky" indulgence.

Thai food doesnt bother me; saying that though I'm not very food sensitive.
Hopefully with time you'll be able to tolerate more foods.

Hey -
Pad Thai is relatively mild compared to the rest of Thai Food, but it still has alot of things that irritate most IC bladders, like soy sauce, fish sauce which is fermented, and lime juice. It's a bummer, but I don't think it is a safe food:(
I find that if I am craving Asian food - I make stirfry and add sesame oil and garlic and salt to rice, chicken or fish and stirfried vegetables - it's surprisingly tasty for being so limited with spices.

I am on a pretty restricted diet currently (new to IC) but getting ready to try things soon, hopefully. My FAVORITE food is a red curry chicken dish at our local Thai restaurant. I always get mild, so it's not really spicy to taste...but I know our bladders tend to redefine what "spicy" means. Has anyone tried any form of curry before? Any advice? Should I try taking Prerelief while I eat it, or just try it straight to see if it bothers me? So far I haven't tried anything (there are other things on the list before Thai food but I went from eating it weekly to missing it for months so the sooner the better) and I am really scared I will eat the wrong thing and somehow lose the last 4 months of hard work and treatment.
