My husband and I have finally decided that we should try to get pregnant. My primary question is related to potenal learning problems. My Uro and Ob/Gyn have found little to no concerns in the health realms of the diet but I am concerned that following a strick IC diet will remove certain nutrients that the baby will need to develop brain potential.

If you followed a strict IC diet or took certain medications during your pregnancy would you be willing to share with me if any of your children have developed a learning disability or are developementally delayed or have other learning related concerns?

I know that everyone tells me I should just be happy with a healthy baby and not to worry about this, but being a School Psychologist I seem drawn to inquire about this area so that I can be better prepared.

Thank you,
Mandy

I am in the same situation as you. We would like to start a family. The concerns that you mentioned cross my mind, also. I am a school speech language pathologist, so I know where you are coming from. Hopefully someone will be able to share some insights with us soon.:hi:

Thanks to morning/afternoon/evening sickess I couldn't tolerate much in the way of foods for the first 5 months...ugh...even seeing or smelling raw meat made me very sick...I was given prenatal vitamins and was able to take those with no problems...I craved apple Hostess fruit pies and chocolate milk, and lived on those for a long time...my son was perfect...hahhahaha
