I take barley grass tablets for my ic with a lot of success. It doesn't really make any sense as to why it helps, all I know is it does. Is their anyone else out there who takes barley grass or wheat grass with success? Celery juice also will help me get out of a flare. Again, don't ask me why, cause I don't know. Reading the boards has certainly convinced me that everyone is different and that their is no "one" cure for all. I personally had to got off of all of the popular meds that most people with ic are on. They caused me a lot of chronic fatigue and just a sense of being in a fog all of the time.

I have some but haven't felt it do much. I bet barleygrass and celery are alkaline so maybe that it why it helps if your flare is caused by acid. PV

You are probably right. If I'm having a flare, I can drink some celery juice(I also use carrot juice with it because the celery juice is so strong) it clears things right up. I guess it's probably like drinking some baking soda and water, except I'm sure it's better for you. I highly recommend it. You can buy a juicer pretty cheap.
